Bank branches in Argentina would not serve the public for five consecutive days, from Friday, November 6, through Tuesday, November 10, 2026, inclusive. The calendar brings together Bank Workers’ Day, the weekend, a national public holiday, and a banking holiday established for the entire country by the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA).
According to media coverage, in-person service would resume on Wednesday the 11th, with a territorial exception: that day is a public holiday in the province of Buenos Aires and could extend the closure of branches in that jurisdiction.
How the closure is made up
Friday the 6th marks Bank Workers’ Day, a day with no service at branches. Saturday the 7th and Sunday the 8th, which normally have no in-person service, are followed by the national public holiday on Monday the 9th and the banking holiday on Tuesday the 10th.
The BCRA established the banking holiday on Tuesday the 10th through Communication “A” 8487. Although that day is also a local public holiday in the City of Buenos Aires and in Córdoba, the banking provision applies to institutions throughout the national territory. For that reason, the scope of the bank closure does not necessarily coincide with that of public holidays affecting work: Monday the 9th is a national public holiday, while Wednesday the 11th is a provincial public holiday in Buenos Aires.
Which transactions might remain available
The closure of branches does not mean that all financial services will be interrupted. Media coverage reports that channels such as home banking and apps, as well as ATMs, transfers, and card payments, will be available during those days. Actual availability may vary depending on the transaction and the institution.
By contrast, procedures requiring in-branch service and transactions subject to clearing or a business day might be delayed until activity resumes. The calendar may also affect certain banking or financial services that do not operate during public holidays and weekends. Companies relying on those services should check with their institution for the hours and deadlines applicable to each transaction.
