On October 6, 2026, PROA Comunicación announced that Jordi Sevilla was joining its management team as a senior advisor. The consultancy says his arrival is intended to drive the growth of its public affairs practice; other coverage places him in charge of that activity. The company provides strategic communications, public affairs and reputation services.
A career spanning government and business
An economist and member of the Senior Corps of State Commercial and Economics Technicians, Sevilla has held various positions in the central government, including head of the Office of the Minister of Economy and Finance. He was also a member of parliament and spokesperson on economic affairs in Congress, and Minister of Public Administrations from 2004 to 2007.
Later, he was responsible for the economic program of Pedro Sánchez’s Committee of Experts and chaired Red Eléctrica from July 2018 to January 2020. His career has also included teaching at EOI and the Instituto de Empresa, as well as earlier work with the consultancy LLYC as director of economic context.
PROA’s focus on public affairs
The appointment brings together experience in public administration, economic policy and business at a consultancy seeking to strengthen its public affairs offering. For organizations, this field involves relations with institutions and monitoring public issues that may affect their activities. However, the announcement does not specify Sevilla’s duties or set quantified objectives for the practice.
PROA’s managing partners, Lucía Casanueva and Valvanuz Serna Ruiz, framed the appointment as part of their commitment to having “the best team in the market” and offering clients a distinctive service. They also highlighted the growing importance of public affairs and the need for organizations to anticipate scenarios and coordinate their actions with their strategic plans.
Sevilla described joining the firm as “a challenge” and said he considers it a privilege to put his experience and knowledge at the service of its clients. These are the views of the consultancy’s leaders and Sevilla himself; the announcement provides no projected results or specific commitments associated with his appointment.
