Sempli, Ímpetu Energía and EnerBit announced a partnership to finance the purchase and installation of solar systems at small and medium-sized Colombian businesses. The initiative, called Crédito Solar, includes a line of credit of nearly $300 billion and aims to reach more than 5,000 SMEs over the next five years, according to the companies. These are announced targets, not results already achieved.
How the financing would work
The product offers loans of up to $300 million per company, with terms of up to 72 months, a four-month grace period, and fixed installments. Applications would be processed digitally through Sempli’s platform. According to Valora Analitik, the credit line is aimed at legally incorporated companies with annual sales exceeding $500 million; the available sources do not detail interest rates, complete requirements, or approval criteria.
The partnership divides the work among the three companies: Sempli would manage the financing; Ímpetu Energía would be responsible for designing, installing, and commissioning the photovoltaic systems; and EnerBit would provide tools for managing energy consumption and surplus energy. The companies also announced technical support to evaluate each project.
Esteban Velasco, CEO and co-founder of Sempli, said the goal is to lower the barrier to accessing capital for SMEs interested in adopting solar energy. Santiago Restrepo, CEO of Ímpetu Energía, described the proposal as integrating financing, technical development, and energy management into a single process.
Savings and payback: estimates subject to each project
The companies estimate that a properly sized solar system could reduce the energy bill by between 40% and 70% and pay for itself within four to six years. These are company projections, not savings or time frames guaranteed for every business. The outcome will depend on the characteristics of the installation and each company’s consumption; the sources do not present an independent assessment of these estimates.
For SMEs, the proposal aims to bring financing and technical implementation together in a single process. Before assessing the project, it will be important to understand its specific terms: the total cost of the credit, eligibility requirements, and the estimated savings calculated for each company’s consumption profile. The companies said interested businesses can begin the process on Sempli’s platform or contact any of the partners.
