More local capacity to grow in the United States
SAMY has acquired Get Engaged, a U.S. agency specializing in social media, creator marketing, talent and entertainment. The acquisition strengthens SAMY’s presence in the United States, a market the company identifies as its main growth target.
Founded in 2016 by Alex Dermer, Cam Fordham and Ben Hiott, Get Engaged has more than 120 employees in Atlanta, New York, Nashville and Los Angeles. The agency connects brands with celebrities and creators through content and campaigns across different platforms.
The integration will combine that expertise in the U.S. market with SAMY’s global capabilities in research and data intelligence, strategy, creativity, content production and technology applied to social media. According to information released about the acquisition, Get Engaged will retain its founders, leadership team and culture; Alex Dermer will continue as CEO.
An acquisition within the international strategy
The purchase follows SAMY’s expansion of its international assignments with the Unilever Foods and Barilla accounts, and the appointment of Anabela Bonuccelli as general manager of the company in the United States. The move is backed by Bridgepoint, SAMY’s majority shareholder since 2025. The acquisition price has not been disclosed.
Juan Andrés Elhazaz Walsh, CEO of SAMY, said that expanding the company’s presence in the United States remains the group’s growth priority. Alex Dermer, CEO of Get Engaged, noted that joining SAMY will give his agency access to its global reach, technology and talent to expand its business.
According to figures provided by the company, SAMY has more than 1,200 employees, 22 offices and operations in 55 markets. The acquisition adds capabilities and staff in the United States, but the sources do not provide details on integration timelines, operational changes or financial targets associated with the deal.
