Bali, Keytel’s new regional base

Keytel, the company providing services to independent hotels and part of Grupo Hotusa, announced the opening of a branch in Bali (Indonesia). From there, it will coordinate the management of and relations with its partner properties in Southeast Asia, as well as drive commercial development in other markets in the area.

The office will have a specialized local team responsible for both hotel accounts and the company’s expansion. According to information released by Keytel, its regional portfolio comprises 173 partner hotels: 96 in Thailand, 74 in Indonesia, and one in each of the following markets: Malaysia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

The company describes the branch as a platform for expanding its operations and strengthening its ties with the properties. Bali is joining an international network of offices that includes, among other cities, Rome, Paris, Lisbon, Cancún, Buenos Aires, Natal, and Tunis. Globally, Keytel has more than 3,800 hotels in 90 countries.

More connections between Europe and Asia

The opening coincides with an increase in travel between Europe and Asia. IATA put year-on-year passenger traffic growth on that corridor at 12.1% in July 2026, making it the fastest-growing of the major international routes. Coverage also indicates that global international demand fell by 0.1% that month.

Keytel’s managing director, Xavier Cortés, linked the decision to growing European demand for Asia and to the interest shown by hotels in the region in the company’s services. Keytel also highlighted the increase in arrivals of European travelers to Vietnam during the first seven months of the year, up by more than 50%, and the position of Thailand and Indonesia among the Asian summer destinations preferred by those travelers.

These figures provide context for the company’s move, but they do not make it possible to attribute demand growth to the new office or predict its commercial impact. For now, the opening is a decision announced by the company to manage its existing portfolio and explore new regional opportunities.
