The minimum wage in effect in October
As of October 1, 2026, the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage (SMVM) is $391,200 per month for those who work a full statutory workday. For hourly workers, the set rate is $1,956 per hour. In September, the amounts were $383,800 and $1,919 per hour, respectively.
These amounts are part of the schedule established by Resolution 4/2026, after union and employer representatives failed to reach an agreement in the National Council for Employment, Productivity and the Minimum, Vital and Mobile Wage. The schedule covers workers subject to the Employment Contract Law, the Agricultural Work Regime, and agencies of the National Public Administration acting as employers.
The monthly amount applies to a full statutory workday: it does not necessarily represent the net income each worker will receive. For reduced workdays and part-time contracts, the resolution provides for a calculation proportional to the hours worked. Family allowances are not included in the SMVM.

The resolution also establishes increases for the following months. These are future amounts in the schedule, not amounts in effect in October:

Effect on unemployment benefits
The SMVM also sets the limits for unemployment benefits provided for under Law 24,013. In October, the benefit has a minimum of $195,600 and a maximum of $391,200. The regulations link its calculation to previous remuneration and set these limits at 50% and 100% of the minimum wage, respectively.
The limits also have scheduled increases: in November, the minimum will be $199,400 and the maximum $398,800; in December, they will be $203,200 and $406,400. The amount applicable to each person depends on the rules governing the benefit, so the limits do not mean that every beneficiary automatically receives the same amount.</n
The SMVM may serve as a reference for other programs or requirements, but that does not mean their amounts are updated automatically every time the minimum wage changes. Each benefit is governed by its own regulations and conditions. DYSON(visitor?>
