The Spanish market for elevators and other lifting equipment generated €3.32 billion in revenue in 2025, 9.9% more than the previous year, according to Informa’s DBK Sector Observatory. Growth accelerated from the 6.4% recorded in 2024 and was accompanied by gains in its two main activities: installation and maintenance and repair services.

Installation grows strongly

Elevator installation generated €840 million, 13.5% more than in 2024. Informa links this growth, among other factors, to demand for adding elevators to existing residential buildings and to increased construction activity.

Maintenance and repair, the largest segment, generated €2.48 billion in revenue, up 8.8%. The company also identifies higher requirements for safety, accessibility and environmental protection, as well as the renovation and modernization of equipment, as drivers.

Exports below their peak

Spanish exports of elevators and lifting equipment totaled €623 million in 2025. Although this represents another decline, the figure was 15% below the peak reached two years earlier. France was the main destination, accounting for 17% of external sales, followed by the United Kingdom and Portugal.

Informa forecasts further growth, but this is a forecast

For 2026 and 2027, Informa estimates that the market will grow by between 6% and 7% annually and approach €3.8 billion in the latter year. The company bases this expectation on the projected performance of the construction sector and possible support for social rental housing, building renovation and energy efficiency. This is an Informa forecast, not a confirmed result.

The figures may differ from those published in other sector studies: the activities covered and estimation methodologies may vary. Therefore, the 2025 data and the outlook for the following two years should be interpreted within the framework of DBK’s analysis.

The observatory also notes increasing market concentration: the five leading operators accounted for 68.5% of the market in 2025, and the top ten accounted for 81.6%. Even so, Informa notes that the sector continues to consist mainly of small companies, particularly those specializing in maintenance and repair within limited geographic areas.
