Randstad projects more than 2,000 hires for the year-end season in Argentina

The consulting firm estimates that the peak in activity driven by shopping events and the start of the vacation season will boost temporary and permanent job openings, especially in logistics, retail, and services.

Randstad expects to fill more than 2,000 jobs in Argentina during the final quarter of 2026, in response to the seasonal increase in activity driven by Cyber Monday, Black Friday, the year-end holidays, and the start of the vacation season. The projection includes both temporary and permanent jobs; it is not a count of hires already completed.

The consulting firm reported that it has nearly 600 active job openings and said that logistics and distribution will account for most of the opportunities, with around 1,400 vacancies. It also expects to recruit for e-commerce, retail, consumer goods, hospitality, food service, and events.

Logistics and distribution lead demand

The profiles sought include warehouse workers, pickers and packers, who prepare and package orders, and forklift operators. The list also includes route planners and home-delivery distributors, involved in transporting goods and making last-mile deliveries.

For companies, the seasonal rebound is not limited to sales positions: it also requires strengthening warehousing, order preparation, and distribution activities to meet the increase in commercial activity.

Sales, restocking, and customer service

Randstad estimates that more than 300 people will be hired in retail for positions such as sales associates, fashion specialists, supervisors, store managers, and cashiers. This group is joined by more than 200 vacancies for sales representatives, promotional sales staff, and stock replenishment workers, mainly at consumer goods companies and retailers.

Demand is also expected to extend to hotels, restaurants, catering companies, and event organizers. The consulting firm expects more than 100 waiter positions, as well as openings for bellhops, housekeepers, kitchen dishwashers, and public-area staff.

A seasonal projection, not an employment tally

Andrea Avila, Randstad’s CEO for Argentina, Chile, Mexico, and Uruguay, said that sales promotions, the holidays, and the approaching vacation period usually drive demand for staff. She also noted that temporary jobs allow companies to expand their teams during periods of peak activity and can offer some people a way to enter the labor market or gain experience.

The estimate covers the job openings the consulting firm expects to manage in the country and includes both temporary and permanent positions. On its own, it cannot predict how many vacancies will ultimately be filled or how long the contracts will last: those conditions depend on each job offer and employer.

The Burro Canaglia fire case moves to the intermediate phase

A Madrid judge has ordered proceedings to continue under the abbreviated procedure in the case concerning the 2023 fire that caused three deaths. The Public Prosecutor’s Office and the private prosecutors have ten days to request an oral trial or dismissal; the decision is neither a conviction nor, by itself, the opening of a trial.
